After the last Japanese coal mine closed, Ikeshima island is nearing abandonment. Observing its life forces us to reflect about our relationship with Earth. The few people who remain, live in a surreal scenery, which seems to foretell our future. A somehow dreamlike journey into the island’s life, where the people’s only hope, other than tourism, lies in the education of future generations.
